Medics.Academy develops and provides programmes that are designed to support, enhance and develop careers in healthcare. Each programme is built with a variety of learning experiences to maximise education and enjoyment. Many programmes are commissioned by the NHS, HEE, or both. A selection of them can be found below. 

 

The HLA Scholarship Programme

The HLA Scholarship programme is a globally renowned scholarship programme that recognises healthcare professionals with leadership potential and gives them the opportunity to develop their leadership skills and take their leadership journey to the next level.

This programme is currently commissioned by HEE North East and HEE South West.

F|Docs Plus

This programme is designed for foundation doctors and final year medical students making the transition to the foundation programme. The programme will guide you through the entire foundation programme, up until application to specialty training.

This programme is currently commissioned by HEE North East, HEE Yorkshire & Humber and Barts Health NHS Trust.

Postgraduate Certificate in Clinical Practice, Management and Education

Medics.Academy delivers, in partnership with the University of Central Lancashire, an innovative and flexible, online, postgraduate course in clinical practice, management and education with a wide variety of modules including: Technology Enhanced Learning, Applied Clinical Education and Core Principles in Healthcare Leadership. This course has been designed to allow full-time clinicians to undergo a postgraduate qualification alongside their clinical work. The programme places an emphasis on genuine reflective practice and empowering learners to expand their skill set through innovative assignments and content delivery.

This programme is currently commissioned by HEE South West and HEE North East.
Masters programmes - PG cert

HLA Intermediate
Level One

The Healthcare Leadership Academy (The HLA) and Medics.Academy have together developed a series of leadership programmes that are accredited and supported by the Institute of Leadership and Management and The University of Central Lancashire (UCLan) Medical School. The Intermediate Level 1 Programme is designed and built on the experience of delivering content to hundreds of scholars, fellows and clinicians over several years. This practical programme, accredited both by a university and professional body, is worth 20 masters credits.

Cancer Genomics:
The Essentials

This CPD accredited course created as a bespoke programme in partnership with Guy’s and St Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust, provides the key context for cancer genomics in medicine. Genomics will be the core provision of healthcare going forward, driving innovation in the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of ill-health. This course is relevant to all healthcare professionals with an interest in applying the principles of genomics to their daily clinical practice.

This programme is currently commissioned by the South East London Cancer Alliance.

Clinical Leadership & Innovation Fellowship

This prestigious fellowship supports doctors to flexibly learn while they work and supports trusts and hospitals by recruiting excellent doctors to fill available shifts. The programme lasts 6, 9 or 12 months and also equips clinicians with the leadership skills they need to develop, support and improve the healthcare systems they work in.

This programme is currently delivered in partnership with Imperial NHS Foundation Trust and Patchwork Health.

SACT Prescribing Digital Blended Learning Programme

In conjunction with The Royal Marsden, Medics.Academy will co-develop a training and learning programme that can be delivered in the NHS and globally through Medics.Academy's distance learning education platform.

The programme will be multi-layered and consist of Level 0-2 competencies of Joint Royal Colleges of Physicians Training Board (JRCPTB) Levels. It is expected that 200 clinicians will complete Competency 0; 150 clinicians for Competency 1; and 100 for Competency 2.
