Live Face-to-Face Teaching

Based on the feedback we’ve previously received from trusts, we understand that some trainees and trust staff prefer live face-to-face teaching workshops as they generate more engagement with the tutor and the content itself. Therefore, as part of F|Docs Plus, we offer live face-to-face teaching workshops to trusts to support their trainee’s development.

If you would like us to conduct a free face-to-face teaching session for your trainees and educational supervisors, all you need to do is:

  • Discuss and agree on a suitable date

  • Provide us with a lecture hall/room within your trust

  • Inform your trainees about the face-to-face training session (this can be managed by Medics.Academy including registrations, providing information, reminders and ensuring the trainees attend the session on the day)

We will handle:

  • Organisation of the end-to-end operations of the workshop

  • Development and delivery of the content based on the topics requested

  • Collection of feedback, and will provide a report at the end of the workshop

A few examples of the workshop topics we deliver are:

  • Technology Enhanced Learning

  • Research Masterclass

  • Leadership in a Clinical Setting

  • Mentoring and Coaching

  • Genomics

  • Health and Wellbeing

  • Maintaining Your Portfolio

  • Reflecting Throughout Training

  • Communication and Dealing with Difficult Conversations

If you have a requirement and would like us to organise a face-to-face teaching session for your trainees, all you have to do is contact us at [email protected] mentioning your requirement and we will get in touch with you for further discussions.

Clinical Learning Modules

F|Docs learning modules are designed to help trainees evidence their personal development and complete their ePortfolios in preparation for ARCP. This includes learning materials and online modules on specialised topics they otherwise may not have access to. The material is designed to provide trainees with comprehensive knowledge through the foundation years one and two until the point they enter specialty training on the clinical aspects.

To learn more about Medics Academy's Foundation Programme Clinical Learning Modules, please contact us at [email protected].

End-of-Year Certificates & Transcripts

Approaching the end of the teaching year (May), trainees will receive a certificate and transcript of their learning completed with F|Docs Plus. The credited learning can be mapped to the Horus ePortfolio curriculum points to help with ARCP.

Trainees are credited for each educational unit they have completed. Trainees must complete at least 80% of a unit for it to be credited as complete. Units that have been started but not completed will be marked as 'incomplete' on a trainee’s certificate.

Trainees can expect to receive their certificate by May 31st and can reach out to the F|Docs team at [email protected] if they have any issues or queries regarding their certificate.

Virtual Study Days

The range of F|Docs learning modules includes CPD-approved virtual study days, which provide certificates upon completion.

  • Cancer and Genomics

  • Sustainable Quality Improvement

  • Leadership

  • Medical Education

  • Artificial Intelligence and Medical Innovation

The study days are designed to be engaging and interactive and include video produced for the courses as well as frequent quizzes to consolidate each chapter and keep trainees actively involved in the learning process.

Countdown to ARCP Series

The F|Docs Plus Countdown to ARCP Series is a series of topics designed to help trainees prepare for ARCP by providing learning that can be used for educational development and be evidenced in their ePortfolios.

Also included is a live end-of-year virtual ARCP catch-up session, where we take trainees through hard-to-evidence learning outcomes on the Horus ePortfolio and get through some more core teaching topics ahead of the Horus submission deadline.

Medical Soundbite Library

The Medics.Academy Medical Soundbite Library is a collection of thirty 60-180 second sound bites that cover Horus ePortfolio curriculum point FPC 2. The soundbites are available on the Medics.Academy app, and allow trainees to learn and revise conveniently in bite-sized chunks.
