How to Secure a Teaching Fellow Role
Workshop for Doctors Applying for Teaching Fellow Roles
This workshop is designed to support junior doctors preparing for Clinical Teaching Fellow (CTF) and Teaching Fellow (TF) roles within the UK. With Teaching Fellow posts becoming increasingly competitive, many doctors lack clear guidance on how to approach applications, interviews, and educational portfolio development. The workshop provides practical, UK specific insight into what Teaching Fellow roles involve, how to identify high quality posts, and what universities and interview panels are genuinely looking for during the selection process.
Through interactive teaching and real world guidance from individuals involved in shortlisting, interviewing, and managing Teaching Fellows, participants will learn practical strategies to optimise NHS/TRAC applications, strengthen portfolio evidence, and prepare confidently for interviews and teaching tasks. The workshop is tailored for FY doctors, F3 doctors, and International Medical Graduates (IMGs) planning to apply for Teaching Fellow roles in 2026–2028.
