About the Conference

This event will address key questions that medical students and new F1s may have about the Academic Foundation Programme (AFP). These relate to the practicalities of application and selection, maximising the academic training experience in AFP and what career opportunities may lie ahead. The conference is being led by Gillian Vance, Director for Academic Foundation Programme training in Northern Foundation School and Professor of Medical Education, Newcastle University.

The event will be delivered by current and past academic trainees, who will share insights on their experience and learning from ‘highs and lows’. Talks from senior faculty will give up-to-date guidance on important processes needed for AFP and beyond (Integrated Academic Training).

The conference will be held on Saturday the 26th of September from 9:30am to 12:30pm. Registration on this conference page will ensure you have access to both the pre- and post-conference materials.
